Specific IVNT Protocols

When it comes to treatment plans for patients, the AG PATEL MD "ARM" CENTER believes in finding and treating the cause of the condition and not just merely the symptom. We specialize in Intravenous Nutrient Therapy, to include the following Specific IVNT Protocols.

Glutathione Push Therapy Glutathione is a powerful, naturally occurring tripeptide, which protects delicate areas of major organs including the brain, eyes, liver, and lungs, which are most susceptible to free radical damage. Studies show that patients with neurodegenerative disorders, such as Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Lou Gehrig’s Disease and Autism, have low Glutathione levels, which leaves certain areas of nerves more susceptible to neuroinflammation. We also use Glutathione to treat certain liver, eye and lung disorders, to help relieve the body of the burden of heavy metals, and as a piggyback after a vitamin cocktail.

High-Dose Vitamin C Therapy Cancer is the second-leading cause of death, yet there have been minimal changes in the death rate from cancer for the past 40 years. Conventional therapies include surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, but are limited in their ability to significantly impact the prognosis of patients with advanced stage III and stage IV malignancies. Elegant studies performed by Dr. Mark Levine at the National Institutes of Health have shown that when ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) is administered in supraphysiologic or pharmacologic doses such as 50 to 100 grams via the intravenous route, it is converted to hydrogen peroxide in the interstitial fluid and is capable of destroying cells that do not possess catalase, the enzyme needed to detoxify hydrogen peroxide. Since cancer cells do not contain catalase, high dose intravenous Vitamin C can serve as an important adjunctive cancer treatment, acting as a chemotherapeutic agent, specific to cancer cells that do not harm normal cells. Conventional chemotherapy along with high-dose IV Vitamin C therapy increases the survival rate of cancer patients and is significantly more effective in reducing tumor size than chemotherapy on its own. Click High Dose Vitamin C for an article on the use of this therapy in cancer treatment.

Hydrogen Peroxide Therapy When Hydrogen Peroxide is intravenously added to the bloodstream, it not only has a profound effect on the immune system, but it also has a very positive effect on the lungs in case of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) including asthma, emphysema and bronchitis.

Lipid Exchange/Phospholipid Therapy The use of Phosphatidylcholine (PC) in this therapy makes it one of the most exciting therapies we now perform because of its ability to dramatically improve the outcomes of patients with a wide range of disorders, such as ALS, Lyme, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, MS, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Autism, Bipolar Disorder, Seizures, Hepatitis C, Environmental Illness, Cardiovascular Disease and many more. PC directly up-regulates the fluidity of the membrane, improving its vitality, which is essential for all of metabolism including neuronal transmission. Poor neuronal response is degraded in all the neurological disorders and is directly improved with the use of Phosphatidylcholine (PC) in this therapy. Raising PC levels plays an important role in improving memory and recall, and has been clinically shown to improve the flow of information of all the senses, but most significantly eyesight. PC given intravenously helps restore the proper integrity of the cell membrane, thereby restoring proper function of the organ systems, especially the liver, the gut, the brain, the immune system, the heart, and the hormonal system, which ultimately improves the total health of the patient.

Magnesium Therapy More than 10% of Americans suffer from migraines. Current medications have significant side effects while only reducing migraine frequency by about 50%. Intravenous Magnesium Therapy, along with Vitamins B2 and B6, is specifically targeted at decreasing spasm and relaxing smooth muscle causing relief from migraine pain. When Magnesium is delivered intravenously to patients dealing with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, it relaxes blood vessels and a feeling of warmth rushes through the body and results in an improvement in pain, energy and moods.

Myers Cocktail Therapy Conditions that have shown improvement with the use of the intravenous Myers Cocktail Therapy include:

  • Acute Muscle Pains/Spasms
  • Asthma
  • Cardiovascular Disease
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
  • Chronic Hives
  • Chronic Viral Infections
  • Depression
  • Drug Withdrawal
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Hyperthyroidism
  • Migraine Headaches
  • Respiratory Infections
  • Seasonal Allergies

This therapy builds up nutrient levels quickly and supports immune function, facilitating cellular transport and boosting energy. Some patients have also found this therapy beneficial for enhancing general health, enhancing healthy aging and improving athletic performance.

The Myers Cocktail includes Magnesium chloride, Calcium gluconate, Vitamin B12 (hydroxocobalamin), Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), Vitamin B5 (dexpanthenol), Vitamin B complex 100, Vitamin C and trace minerals. Relief of symptoms usually occurs within minutes of administering the Myers Cocktail. Although patients improve after the first treatment, several treatments, which have a cumulative effect, may be required to achieve maximum results.

Nutritional Therapy If someone struggles for a long period of time with a chronic and debilitating condition, or if someone is very toxic and weakened by environmental toxic exposure or nutritional depletion, they may need aggressive vitamin and mineral replacement. Our Nutritional Therapy may consist of a single nutrient or most often a combination of vitamins and minerals specifically designed to target certain conditions and is used to decrease the progress of disease and to diminish symptoms, which improves energy and stamina. We use our Nutritional Therapy to treat chronic fatigue and other deficiency states.

Phenyl-Butyrate Therapy For individuals with neuroinflammation and states of toxicity, Phenyl-Butyrate is administered intravenously by slow “drip”. Phenyl-Butyrate is a short chain fatty acid that breaks up very long chain fatty acids, which can build up within the cell forming lipid rafts or ceramides, which compromises the liver and brain. The use of Phosphatidylcholine prevents the reformation of ceramides (lipid rafts that disrupt membrane function of the cell).

Vitamin C Therapy One major benefit Vitamin C has on the body is to enhance the immune function. In times of physical or emotional stress, a weakened immune system predisposes our body to infection. Our Vitamin C Therapy contains high doses of ascorbic acid along with other vitamins and minerals and effectively supports the body’s immune system so that one can more effectively fight off the offending agent. We use Vitamin C Therapy for both acute and chronic immune, viral and bacterial infections.
