Side Effects of Chelation Therapy

Some patients may experience the following:

  • Low blood sugar (which is why patients will be asked to eat prior to treatments)
  • A headache
  • A feeling like one will faint (may be due to a drop in blood pressure)
  • Phlebitis (which can occur anytime you get an intravenous treatment/vein irritation)
  • Extreme fatigue (can be a detoxification effect)
  • Rare case of diarrhea
  • Leg cramps

Even after experiencing any of the previous side effects, patients will often feel extremely well for several days after treatment and after several treatments, patients will only feel well.
